Volvo announces new broadcast low 181HP D4 Diesel and 2.0 l Inline 306HP and four gasoline T6

Five Volvo diesel engines cylinder D3 and D4 were never more efficient two-liter in the market units, but hit well above its capacity in terms of torque and, of course, made a nice telltale marked accompanying each tap of the accelerator.

Now, the Swedes have brought a new engine of Drive-E for use under the hood of the S60/V60, but it is not based on the old D4, because this new 181 hp one lost a cylinder and with it, a lot of charm.

Speaking of the effort of torque, Volvo omits to mention if the figure has changed or not, but the old 163 hp version had 400 Nm, which is close to what makes some conventional V6 diesel... We can say without fear to misinform is fuel consumption claimed unit of disco-E, which is located at 3.8 l / 100 km or 74.3 mpg UK. Then, the very low CO2 emissions, which are a claim also there are 99 g/Km if go to buyers by a six-speed stick.

"The Drive-E diesels incorporating the technology of world first i-ART with each fuel injector pressure feedback instead of using a traditional individual pressure sensor in the common rail -" still doesn't sound as well as before, though... "The combination of 2500 bar injection pressure and i-arte technology gives the client an engine of high performance, improved fuel economy and reduced emissions." It is a breakthrough comparable to the invention of the probe lambda for the catalytic converter in 1976, according to Derek Crabb Vice President Powertrain Engineering at Volvo Car Group.

Now, Volvo has another two-liter unit with the wrong number of cylinders for the listening enjoyment at the store, and it has somewhat misleadingly named T6. However, this is powered by gasoline, makes 306 hp and pushes the S60 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds, benefit from Turbo and supercharged. However, it is still touted as being aimed at efficiency, using only 6.4 l / 100km (44.1 mpg UK / 36.75 U.S. mpg) and an almost incredible 149 g/km of CO2 – which is very good for its power output of emission. These figures are available in conjunction with a new eight-speed automatic box which will be available in the range. The new T6 debuts the coming year, so if you want a six-pot, with the best body facelifted, you still have time to pick up one.
